My relief sculpture of Our Lady with the Infant Jesus is displayed against an etching plate of Pictish animal symbols by the artist Marianne Lines. There is plenty of symbolism to explore here - the infant Jesus has a bright bluebird of the Holy Spirit within his body, The same blue highlights spears that are rising from below, they also form the pattern of Mary's skirt. Her hair is arranged in three curls...thoughts of the Holy Trinity. Marianna's Pictish animals make the perfect backdrop.
