This is the title of my new poetry collection, published with Templar Poetry. The collection seems to me to be a poetry party - all are welcome to enjoy the illusions and delusions therein! Launched on Sunday 3rd June at Keats House, where I'll be reading with the wonderful poet Tom Weir. See you there if you can make it!
Well, I've registered again for this year's Perthshire Open Studio Event on 1st to 9th Sept...a new theme of prints and collage for my brochure entry and here is the image i've chosen:
I've been enjoying myself that week I was snowed in - it gave me lots of time to experiment with monoprinting! My work has taken a new direction, with a series based on the theme of 'Twinhood'.
Oh and a peacock butterfly turned up! Perthshire Open Studios is well underway...just Fri, Sat, Sun left...Clova Cottage and Coco and everything I've been painting all coming together over pots of tea...
I'm delighted to have paintings in Eduardo Alessandro Studios in Broughty Ferry as part of the summer exhibition there...here's a link for virtual viewing eastudios.com/product-category/galleries/artists/dawn-wood/dawn-wood-originals/
This painting is now on display at the Butterfly Café in Dundee, 28-32 Commercial Street DD1 3EJ. It is a wonderfully colourful café and my painting looks spectacularly at home. It's a biggish painting, 150 x 96cm and I'd love to get commissions to paint others of this size...so do spread the word if you are reading this!
Quite a departure from my usual style, this soloist appeared as a ghostly presence and wouldn't be removed. I realise that it is great fun to use let the paint drip and see what essential elements remain.
